The Turner Family Of Networks Will Televise The Final Four

As part of the TV deal between CBS, Turner Sports and the NCAA that has allowed every game of the NCAA tournament in recent years will bring Saturday's national semi-finals to TBS for the first time.

In addition, TNT and TruTV will get in on the action with each network offering a team-centric telecast for each of the schools participating in the Final Four.  More information on this will be released later this week and CBS will televise Monday's championship game.

As the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia winds down, NBC's primetime tape delay coverage continues to win the night in ratings.  Friday night's coverage on NBC posted an overnight rating/share of 9.4/16, which was 114% higher than the second most watched show of the night.

Ratings continue to be strong for NBC's primetime tape delayed coverage of the Winter Olympics from Sochi.  NBC's coverage Thursday posted an overnight rating of 14.4 good enough to top the other broadcast networks combined.

NHRA Drag Racing Returns To ESPN This Weekend

This weekend, ESPN will kickoff its 14th season of NHRA coverage this weekend with the 54th annual Winternationals in Pomona, CA.  ESPN will televise all premier Mello Yello Drag Racing Series 2014 events as well as the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Services as well.

Coverage this weekend on ESPN2 and ESPN will be on a same day tape basis and ESPN3 will have live coverage Friday evening and all day Saturday.

The New York Times is reporting that the NFL is looking to expand its Thursday Night package that would expand the package of games to 16 and is looking for a TV partner that will split the package 50/50 with the NFL Network.

This would be the boon that both Fox and NBC are looking for when it comes to their cable sports entities of Fox Sports 1 and NBCSN.  All 4 of the major broadcast networks as well as TNT are expected to bid on the package.

Dish Network Is Expected To Carry SEC Network Upon Launch

Sports Business Journal is reporting today this morning that Dish Network is expected to carry the SEC Network  upon launch this August.  In addition, SEC Network is expected to top what BTN and the Pac 12 networks charge per subscriber within the SEC footprint.

If how Dish Network treats BTN and the Pac 12 Networks is any indication, the SEC Network will be on primary programming packages within the SEC footprint and in the sports pack in other regions of the country.

Turns out that the 2014 NHL Winter Classic tied as the highest-rated NHL regular season game in nearly 40 years.

BCS Ratings Update

Last night's Sugar Bowl on ESPN proved to be a ratings success as it was the highest rated BCS game in 7 years.

NFL On CBS NFL Ratings Highest In Nearly 20 Years

With the 2013 NFL regular season in the rear view mirror, CBS Sports coverage was the highest rated in nearly 20 years.

Through the first two games of the 2014 and final BCS, ESPN is enjoying an uptick in ratings.

AFC Playoff Games To Be Web Streamed by CBS

In a first for CBS Sports, all 4 of the AFC playoff games that will be televised by CBS will be streamed at the CBS Sports Web Site.

Sunday Night Football Is The Most Watched Show For Fall

No big surprise here, but NBC's Sunday Night Football was the most-watched primetime show of the recently concluded Fall TV season.

Winter Classic Ratings

The 2014 NHL Classic televised by NBC posted an overnight rating of 2.9.  This ties the ratings posted by the 2009 NHL Classic and is the highest overnight rating ever for a regular season game televised by NBC.
