With the NFL regular season complete, the NFL has provided a recap of the NFL on TV.
How The Nielsen Company has determined, this I don't know, but the TV ratings provider has said that the NFL had 205 million unique viewers, that represents 81% of all TV homes and 70% of the potential U.S. viewers.
Here are some highlights:
*The regular season averaged 17.6 million viewers per game, second-most ever.
*34 out of the 35 most-watched TV programs throughout the Fall months were NFL games.
*An NFL game was the week's most-watched show in all 17 weeks of the regular season.
*For the 4th year in a row, Sunday Night Football is the most-watched primetime program.
*Thursday Night Football on NFL Network was cable's most watched Thursday program of the fall.
Having the majority of games on broadcast TV every week no doubt has helped the NFL put up monster ratings and while more and more sports telecast continue to flock to cable, the NFL has a strong presence on broadcast TV.
