Dish Network adds MLB Network
In what was just as a big of a surprise that Mediacom was adding the NFL Network, Dish Network has announced that it has added the MLB Network to it's lineup.
According to a a Press Release from Dish Network, MLB Network will be available on channel 153 to customers who have the America's Top 200 or it's sports pack. MLB Network went live on Dish Network yesterday. It's an odd time for MLB Network to be joining Dish Network with just a month remaining in the regular season, but for Dish Network of having the stigma of not being sports friendly, this is a welcome addition.
With MLB Network now on Dish Network, I believe that Mediacom is now just about the only major cable & satellite provider who doesn't offer MLB Network.

ABC/ESPN Reverse Mirror
The ABC/ESPN Reverse Mirror returns for the 2011 season. The reverse mirror was added in 2007 as part of the Big 10's TV contract with ABC/ESPN. The reverse mirror ensures national coverage of the Big 10 game that airs during the 2:30 TV window on ABC.
A prime example of how the reverse mirror works is what we'll have tomorrow. Locally on WOI-TV, we will get the Minnesota @ UCLA game and the Western Michigan @ Michigan game will air on ESPN2. In the Quad Cities TV market, it's reversed with the Michigan game on ABC and the Minnesota game on ESPN2.

Fox Sports today announced their studio hosts for college football coverage on the FOX Broadcast Network, FX, and FSN.
According to a Press Release from Fox Sports, Kevin Frazier and Marcus Allen will team together to form the studio show for college football coverage across multiple Fox Sports platforms this college football season as well as being on-site for the inaugural Big 10 & Pac-12 Championship Games this December.

Bruce Feldman joins CBS Sports and rips into ESPN
Bruce Feldman, who perhaps may be one of the most respected college football writers in the country, announced today via his Twitter account and confirmed by CBS by a Press Release that he has joined CBS Sports and will contribute his talents to a host of CBS platforms.
The internet community erupted in protest back in July when it was announced that Feldman was suspended by ESPN for his work on the book written by former Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach that had some not so pleasant things to say about ESPN analyst Craig James, the suspension came after Feldman was given the okay by the suits at ESPN to work on the project.
The following day after reports broke that Feldman was suspended by ESPN, it was reported that ESPN denied that he was suspended. Well today, Feldman, free of his ties to ESPN, appeared on The Dan Patrick Radio Show (ESPN talent is prohibited from appearing on the show) and unloaded on his former employer, which he was employed by the four letter network for 17 years.
You can hear the interview at this Web Site, during the interview, Feldman basically said he was indeed suspended by ESPN and was banned from using his Twitter account, could not attend SEC Media Days, and was banned from being booked to appear on various local sports shows across the country.
Other than for live game telecasts (i'm watching a college football game on ESPNU as I write this blog entry), ESPN is totally irrelevant to me. With the partnership that CBS Sports has with Yahoo! Sports Radio to simulcast the Tim Brando Show on Yahoo! Sports Radio on CBS Sports Network, one would think that Feldman could very well contribute to Yahoo! Sports Radio which could lead to growth for that network.
