Mediacom adds NFL Network

In what is a surprising move, Mediacom has announced that NFL Network & NFL Network Redzone will be added to Mediacom's digital package in early early September.

NFL Network Redzone will be available as a stand alone channel and can be purchased for the entire season for a one time fee of $50.00 and you must have Mediacom's digital package to purchase NFL Network Redzone.

NBC Sports Group to have more NHL hockey coverage than ever

The NBC Sports Group today released their TV schedule for the 2011-12 NHL season and the NBC Sports Group is having more coverage than ever before.

According to a Press Release from NBC Sports, more than 100 hockey games will be shown on NBC and VERSUS, which will rebrand to NBC Sports Network in January.

NBC's coverage begins on Black Friday, November 25 and VERSUS will drop their puck for the 2011-12 season on Thursday, October 6th.  In addition, VERSUS will also add exclusive national coverage every Wednesday night during the season and beginning in January, exclusive national coverage in January.

UFC telecasts is moving to the Fox Sports Group

The Fox Sports Group today has announced a multi-year, multi-media rights agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

According to a Press Release from Fox Sports, beginning this November, four UFC fights will be shown on the Fox broadcast network with the remaining matches to be televised on cable channel FX.  In addition, in the spring of 2012, UFC's signature show, THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER, will debut on FX,

CBS Sports Network kicks off it's 9th year of college football

CBS Sports Network today has announced their broadcast schedule and a roster of broadcast talent for the 2011 college football season.

According to a Press Release from CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network will televise 42 games this year and part of that schedule includes 10 games showcasing the service academies and several non-conference games involving several BCS schools.

In addition, it was announced that former Michigan and West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez has joined CBS Sports Network and will serve as an analyst working with Dave Ryan to call Conference USA and Mountain West games veteran play-by-play announcer Gary Thorne has joined CBS Sports Network as well.
