News & Notes from the Fox Sports Group

It's another busy weekend of NFL & college football action across the FOX family of networks and this weekend, the team of Gus Johnson & Charles Davis will make their 2011 NFL Debut  by calling the Minnesota/Kansas City  game from Arrowhead Stadium just a few hours after wrapping up calling the action in Ames doing the Texas/Iowa St. game on FX.

Changes coming to NASCAR on Fox in 2012

Since Fox Sports starting broadcasting NASCAR Sprint Cup races in 2001, the "Hollywood Hotel" hasn't seen much in the way of changes, well starting in 2012, that will be changing.

According to a Press Release from FOX Sports, veteran drive Michael Waltrip will join his brother, Darrell, as co-analyst for FOX Sports Pre-race coverage and Jeff Hammond will take his expertise to the garage area and pit road.

CSN Chicago announces their Chicago Blackhawk TV schedule

With the calendar about to turn to October, that means the NHL is about to drop the puck on the 2011-12 NHL regular season and Comcast SportsNet Chicago is going to have extensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks.

According to a press release from Press Release from Comcast SportsNet Chicago, 50 Blachawk games will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago & Comcast SportsNet Chicago+.  Coverage begins with Chicago's season opening game with Chicago visiting Dallas on Friday, October 7 at 7pm (CT).

The media geek in me comes out here and wonder if Comcast SportsNet Chicago and the other regional Comcast RSN's incorporate the NBC graphics into their hockey telecasts like VERSUS has done for college football.

TBS to air potential Wild Card tiebreaker games tomorrow

With tonight being the final night of the MLB season and the Wild Card winners yet to be determined, MLB fans nation wide will be glued to the impact games that depending on their location will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or their local RSN.

In the event tiebreaker games are needed tomorrow, TBS  will have exclusive coverage of the games.  According to a Press Release from Turner Sports, if necessary, the AL Wildcard Tiebreaker will take place at 3pm (CT) and the NL Wildcard Tiebreaker will air at 7pm (CT).

With the MLB Divisional Playoffs scheduled to begin on Friday, MLB Playoff coverage returns to TBS with the AL & NL Divisional series.
