Only Fox Sports could come up with this

Fox Sports this week announced that their NFL on Fox pregame show hosts will be allowed to chime in with their comments and obersvations during live game action as if they were at the game in the booth themselves.

Why don't I see this going over well and ending the way Fox' experiement ended with the glowing puck?

ESPN launches a new service called Goal Line

Cashing in  on the success of the NFL Network Red Zone Channel, ESPN launched last weekend on Time Warner Cable, a new channel called Goal Line which according to an ESPN press release, will feature unlimited live cut-ins and highlights from numerous top college football games during each Saturday of the college football season, plus up-to-the-minute commentary from ESPN analysts and experts.

Isn't this basically what ESPN has on ESPNEWS on Saturday afternoons?  ESPN continues to slowly kill off the all sports news network.

Joe Theismann to the NFL Network TV Booth

After spending the last couple of years doing studio work for The NFL Network, Joe Theismann is returning to The NFL TV booth, this time as the 3rd person to the NFL Network package of TV games.  Theismann will be joining play-by play announcer Bob Papa and color analyst Matt Millen.  The NFL Network has struck out in the past in their choices of TV announcers, in particular Bryant Gumbel, time will tell if the NFL Network has made a similar move by adding Theismann to it's roster of game announcers.
