ESPNU announces it's fall weekday schedule

With the college football season right around the corner, ESPNU has announced it's fall schedule of football related programming and included in that schedule are three new shows.

According to a Press Release from ESPN the new shows include Palmer & Pollack hosted by Jesse Palmer & David Pollack will be a 3-hour Monday afternoon show reviewing the action from the past Saturday and looking ahead to the following week.  CFB Final Verdict is a spin-off of an College Football Final segment and can be seen Monday afternoon as well.  The final new show called Game Room breaking down film in a 30-minute show.

TV information for pre-season Minnesota Vikings games

The Minnesota Vikings first pre-season game of the 2011 season is this Saturday and with the exception of Eastern Iowa, all of Iowa will be able to catch Vikings preseason games on over the air TV.  I will first provide the schedule with all times Central and then the network affiliates.

Indy 500 will remain on ABC through 2018

Yesterday it was announced that ABC will remain as the TV home of the Indy 500 through 2018.  According to a Press Release from ESPN, beginning in 2012, for the first time ever, coverage will be expanded to include ABC's onboard  coverage on ESPN3.com

BTN announces it's football roster of broadcast talent for 2011

The BTN (formerly known as Big 10 Network) as announced it's roster of broadcast talent for the 2011 college football season.

According to a Press Release from BTN, the broadcast talent for college football telecasts is:

Eric Collins (play-by-play), Chris Martin (analyst) and Dionne Miller (sidelines)
Tom Hart (play-by-play), Derek Rackley (analyst) and Lisa Byington (sidelines)
Matt Devlin (play-by-play), Glen Mason (analyst) and Rebecca Haarlow (sidelines)
and for two games, Gus Johnson (play-by-play), and Charles Davis (analyst)

In addition, play-by-play announcers Wayne Larrivee and Tom Werme, game analyst Danan Hughes, and sideline reporters Stacy Paetz and Jay Wilson all return as well.

New faces on BTB for studio shows and game broadcasts include Kelly Stouffer, Kevin Kugler, Russ Lande, and Andy Staples as well as former Michigan player Jon Jansen former Nebraska RB Ahman Green, former Michigan St. QB Tony Banks, and former Purdue coach Joe Tiller.

ESPN to televise 4 pre-season NFL games

ESPN is to televise four pre-season NFL games this month and the action kicks off tomorrow night, August 11. According to a Press Release from ESPN, San Diego will be hosting Seattle at 7pm (CT) for ESPN's first pre-season telecast.

Sunday's NY Yankee/Boston game most watched on ESPN in 4 years

Last Sunday's NY Yankee/Boston match up on ESPN was ESPN's most watched MLB telecast on ESPN since 2007 which was surprise, surprise it was a Yankee/Boston game.  According to a Press Release from ESPN, viewership averaged over 4.7 million viewers.  Season to date, MLB viewership is up 9% over last year on ESPN.

People complain and complain about about ESPN constantly airing the Yankees & Red Sox, well there's a reason why and the ratings backs it up, fans love this rivalry.

Missouri Valley Conference & ESPN reach an agreement for college football

The Missouri Valley Conference today has announced that it's reached an agreement with ESPN for a handful of college football games this year to be shown on ESPN3.com.

According to a Press Release from the Missouri Valley Conference, five games will be shown exclusively on ESPN3.com including Northern Iowa's October 15 trip to South Dakota St.

ESPN announces TV coverage for the ACC/Big 10 Challenge

ESPN yesterday announced the start times and networks for the 12 games that will comprise the 2011 ACC/Big 10 Challenge, which this year will be entering its 13th year.

According to a Press Release from ESPN, the marquee games consist of Duke at Ohio St. November 29 at 8:30pm (CT) on ESPN and Wisconsin at North Carolina November 30 at 8:30pm (CT) on ESPN.

Kurt Warner signs exclusive deal with NFL Network

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner has signed an exclusive roll with NFL Network that will increase his presence on the cable & satellite channel.

According to a Press Release from NFL Network, Warner will be a part of the network's Sunday morning pre-game show, NFL GameDay Morning, and increased presence on the nightly news & highlight show, Total Access as well as part of the pregame show for Thursday Night Football.

Turner Sports to have extensive coverage of the PGA Championship

The PGA Championship, Golf's final major of the year is this weekend and Turner Sports is having extensive coverage on TV, online, and on mobile devices.

Damien Woody joins ESPN as an NFL analyst

ESPN's NFL roster continues to grow as the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" recently announced the addition of Damien Woody as a studio analyst.
