The playoff run by the Chicago Blackhawks and Bulls are giving Comcast SportsNet Chciago ("CSN Chicago"), it's highest TV ratings ever.

According to a press release from CSN Chicago, over 886, 000 TV home's in the CSN Chicago footprint tuned in for all or part of the Blackhawks & Bulls playoff coverage as well as last's White Sox/Tampa game.

ESPN celebrates the 50th anniversary of "Wide World of Sports"

Gone, but not forgotten. Wide World Sports hasn't been seen on ABC in years, but as the iconic show approaches it's 50th anniversary, ESPN Classic will celebrate the show and it's legacy with 70 hours worth of coverage.

According to a press release, the celebration begins on today, April 22 and continues through the week.

A little sports trivia, the first episode of Wide World Sports came from the Drake Relays here in Des Moines.

NHL announces new TV contract with the Comcast/NBC group

The NHL & Comcast/NBC group has announced a new 10 year TV contract. According to a press release, 100 games will be telvised between NBC & VERSUS with a national game on NBC the day after Thanksgiving. In addition, all Stanley Cup playoff games will have national coverage.
