Last night's Sugar Bowl on ESPN proved to be a ratings success as it was the highest rated BCS game in 7 years.
The Sugar Bowl posted an average overnight rating of 9.3, up a whopping 45% from last year's January 2 BCS game.
The first three BCS games combined have an average rating of 9.1 and that's a 21% increase from the first three BCS games from 2013. In addition, the WatchESPN app is seeing a whopping 206% increase in minutes streamed with 17.8 million minutes for last night's telecast and for the three BCS games combined, an average minute audience of 76,000, up 158% from last year.
