Not only NFL fans are sad to see the regular season of the NFL come to an end, but i'm sure the executives at NBC are sad as well as the prime time ratings for NBC the last several years have tanked once the NFL regular season and i'm sure this year will be no exception. That said, Sunday Night Football on NBC went out with a ratings bang.
Last night's elimination game between Dallas & Philadelphia easily won the primetime ratings last night posting an overnight rating of 16.8 and a 28 share. This makes the third consecutive year for a rating of 16.8 or higher for week 17 of the NFL season with ratings peaking at 18.0/32, it's the seventh-highest rated in history of NBC televising Sunday Night Football and is the third highest rated Sunday Night Football of the year.
For the concluded regular season, NBC posted 4 of the network's nine highest Sunday overnight ratings since NBC began telecasting Sunday Night Football in 2006.
