Super Bowl XLVIII Puts Up Huge Ratings

Despite a blowout, last night's Super Bowl will go into the ratings record book as a winner.

Last night's game averaged 111.5 million viewers making it the most-watched TV show in U.S. History.  The telecast posted a rating/share of 46.4/69 matching the household rating and share from last year.  Surprisingly,  viewership remained strong in the 4th quarter as the game was getting out of hand posting a rating/share of 44.0/63 from 8:30pm (CT) to the end of the game.

The prime time coverage on Fox last night averaged 94.6 million viewers, second best in the 27 year history of the Fox broadcast network.

In addition, the halftime show saw 115.3 million viewers, that's 4.5 million more from last year.  The live stream on Fox Sports Go and Fox Sports.com averaged 528,000 viewers, good enough for the most watched live stream of a sports event in history.
