It was anticipated that the web stream of today's men's hockey semifinal game at the Winter Olympics would generate a record number of users and fans didn't disappoint.
The live stream between Team USA and Canada generated over 2.1 million viewers (me included) this afternoon making it the most viewed sporting event to be streamed by NBC Sports and marking the third day in a row with record-setting live streaming of an NBC televised sporting event.
Yesterday's gold medal hockey game between Team USA and Canada, excluding Stanley Cup Final telecasts, was the most watched hockey game on NBC since the men's Gold Medal game at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
