ESPN kicks off the MLB season with 6 televised games

Lost among the craziness of the NCAA Basketball Tournament is that the start of the 2011 Major League Baseball season is just a week and a half away and ESPN is planning on extensive coverage of our National Pastime during the opening weekend.

According to a press release from ESPN, the ESPN family of networks is planning on televising 6 games from Opening Day, March 31 through April 3, with an additional game on ESPN Radio.

The opening week schedule includes a triple header on March 31:

Detroit @ NY Yankees at 12pm
San Diego @ St. Louis at 3pm (subject to blackout across Iowa)
San Francisco @ LA Dodgers at 7pm
