NBC has begun making preparations for when it takes over televising NASCAR in 2015 and today, a lead announcer was named.
Rick Allen today was named the lead race announcer when NBC returns to televising NASCAR in 2015. Allen, currently the lead announcer for Fox Sports 1 coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Series will be joined by Jeff Burton who will provide color commentary.
Beginning in 2015, NBC & NBCSN will televise the final 20 Sprint Cup and 19 Nationwide events, including all 10 races in The Chase as well as practice rounds and qualifying events.
