A big reason we have Fox Sports 1 today is that Fox Sports needed a national distributor of it's package of over 100 Big East men's basketball games, including the entire post season tournament in March.
With so many games, Fox has built up a rather large stable of announcers who will call Big East games for Fox, Fox Sports 1, and Fox Sports 2. The number one team will showcase Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery who moves over to Fox Sports from ESPN. Other big names who will be part of Fox Sports coverage of the Big East include Dick Stockton, Thom Brennaman, former Maryland coach Gary Williams, and Kevin Kugler.
