Iowa State has been able to do something that Texas hasn't been able to do for it's Longhorn Network and that's achieve distribution for it's content.
Cyclones.tv is set to launch on Mediacom systems across the state prior to Iowa State's home opener against Northern Iowa that Cyclones.tv will carry and they hope to be in HD upon launch. In Des Moines, Cyclones.tv will reside on Mediacom channel 165 and HD on channel 798. Cyclones.tv is exclusive to Mediacom, meaning that other cable & satellite providers won't be offering the channel. Mediacom by far and away is the largest cable provider in Iowa and Cyclones.tv will be available in all 4 corners of the state and you can find out on what channel on your Mediacom line-up here
Cyclones.tv will be able to broadcast one home football per year that isn't selected by the Big 12's TV partners as well as men's and women's basketball games that aren't selected by the Big 12's TV partners. Olympic Sports, coaches shows, press conferences, and game replays will also be part of the programming lineup.
