The Sports Business Journal has a fascinating and free article on what to expect in the world of sports media over the next 10 years.
Some big deals yet to remain, ESPN and the launch of its SEC Network, Time Warner in Los Angeles lauching a Dodger themed channel and DirecTV has yet to reach a deal for the Pac 12 Network(s) and Comcast SportsNet Houston.
Cord cutting is becoming a trend in the TV industry and instead of reaching out to those cord cutters, sports networks are going the opposite and restricting content on mobile devices and web streaming to video subscribers only. If the cord cutting continues, I see rates are only going to get higher and higher for those video subscribers who remain.
