Partial St. Louis Cardnails blackout across Iowa

Similar to the Minnesota Twins partial blackout on Mediacom, several small tele-co providers across Iowa will be blacking out twenty St. Louis Cardnail games this year.

According to a published report, the Cardnails have moved all of their televised games to FS Midwest and those games that were on over the air last year have been carved out into a twenty game package that cable providers must pay extra for.

The blackout does not affect Mediacom, Dish Network, or DircecTV subscribers.

  1. Yes it’s true that there is a radius that games are blacked out based on the rules established by each team, not the MLB. If you are blacked out there may be a local channel with the rights to broadcast the game. Fox holds the rights to games on Saturdays 3:55 PM ET until 7 PM ET. and ESPN Sundays after 8 PM ET. My employer DISH did pay for the rights on Fox Sports Midwest while other providers like AT&T did not, and so none of those subscribers can see 20 games this season, 3 of which they have already missed. If you’re not in the standard blackout zone switch to DISH for more Cardinals games.
